The Bill Hosokawa Bonsai Pavilion and Tea Garden
The Hosokawa Bonsai Pavilion provides the first opportunity for Denver Botanic Gardens to display a unique bonsai collection. The new greenhouse in the Pavilion will facilitate the display of tropical and fragile bonsai that would be endangered if exposed to Colorado's climate.
The expansion project also includes the garden surrounding the existing Tea House. This area is the focus of the activities of Shofu-Kai, Denver Botanic Gardens’ Tea Ceremony Society. The society includes members who have studied the rituals from Tea Ceremony Masters in Japan ensuring an authentic experience for visitors who attend their events and classes.
